The 2013 Giving Tree

by Luke Fuller | Jul 02,2014

The overwhelming compassion of Wenty Leagues’ Members has once again made a big

difference in the lives of those less fortunate this past Christmas. Over 385 presents were

placed under The Giving Tree which is a record high for the Club. The great care and generosity

showed by donors to complete strangers was a remarkable sight to see and very fitting with the

Christmas spirit.

The donated gifts were delivered to the Church of Christ Community Care Crisis Centre in

Pendle Hill. The centre helps women and children escaping domestic violence, or who

are homeless. Families can stay for up to 3 months in the short term refuge accommodation

while the workers aim to provide safe and secure housing and a friendly supportive environment.

While those who received your gifts were not able to thank you personally, they undoubtedly

appreciated every act of kindness.

Wenty Leagues would like to thank all those who helped spread the Christmas cheer

and supported this needy and worthy cause.
