CREATING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN OUR COMMUNITY

Wenty Leagues Club continues its ongoing partnership with Parramatta Mission to help those in the community who are disadvantaged or in need of essential support services.

A team of 8 from Wenty Leagues which included members of staff, the management team and CEO, Glenn Kovacs spent the day preparing food, cooking, setting tables and serving hot meals to over 200 people in need through the Parramatta Mission Meals Plus Outreach Program. Meals Plus is a day centre that provides the homeless and/or disadvantaged with basic needs such as emergency food assistance, laundry and shower facilities, financial counselling, legal advice and referrals to accommodation services.

This ongoing partnership is essential because it aligns with the vision and values the Club encompasses. Wenty Leagues has a proud history of “supporting community groups through volunteering, donating funds and raising awareness. Parramatta Mission is just one of the many charity organisations Wenty Leagues is partnered with to assist those that are disadvantaged” said CEO, Glen Kovacs.

Parramatta Mission Meals Plus Coordinator, Paul Moussa addressed the volunteer group prior to the lunch service to thank Wenty Leagues Club for their generous collaboration. He went onto say, “Meals Plus is a valued program by people who are facing homelessness, and many are living with a mental illness. This program receives no Government funding and depends upon the generosity of community and corporate sponsors such as Wenty Leagues.”

Wenty Leagues staff will again volunteer at Parramatta Mission in June this year.
